Tonka Water has been chosen for the refurbishment of an existing water treatment system in Rio Hondo, Texas. The existing concrete system provides flocculation, tube settlersedimentation, and granularmedia filtration. As a part of this project, new customized Tonka Water paddle-wheel flocculators will be supplied, and the sedimentation basin will be fitted with new, efficient tube settlers, and the innovative MechVac™ mechanical sludge removal system. Also included will be the addition of a third filter cell, and the two existing filter cells will be refurbished to match, incorporating Tonka Water’s Simul-Wash™backwash process, BLEU™ stainless steel underdrains and engineered media.
